People want more say about their community and a police service that is visible, responsive and deals with local problems.

That's why the Government have introduced Safer Neighbourhood police Teams (SNT) across the UK. SNTs are dedicated to your area and listening to you. They are there to deal with local problems and tackle anti-social behaviour like vandalism, littering and graffiti.

A key priority for the Home Office is that every neighbourhood in England and Wales will have a dedicated SNT by 31 March 2008. South Yorkshire Police has already achieved this target.

Doncaster has 16 Safer Neighbourhood Teams organised along neighbourhood lines who the public can contact directly.

These teams are made up of police officers, police community support officers and community safety officers and work closely with a wider family of partners including South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and St Leger Homes of Doncaster.
