As a former health minister Rosie helped to deliver some of the vital reforms that have seen over 38,000 more doctors and 80,000 more nurses in NHS hospitals, most patients waiting less than 13 weeks for treatment and a 17.1% reduction in cancer mortality rates in under-75s since 1996.
Access to quality healthcare for all is one of Rosie’s top priorities as a Doncaster MP and she makes frequent visits to health centres in the constituency.
Rosie has visited Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s Hospital School and Link Education Centre to see how staff integrated education into the hospital lives of youngsters with cystic fibrosis.
She has also visited Doncaster and Bassetlaw Trust’s renal unit which welcomed the first ever National Clinical Director for Kidney Services to Doncaster PCT. Early diagnosis of kidney disease means more people in Doncaster are getting rapid access to the care, advice and treatment they need.
