Nuclear Test Veterans Campaign For a Medal

Dame Rosie Winterton attended an event in Parliament to recognise the thousands of servicemen who were sent to Christmas Island to witness the British nuclear tests, many of whom have suffered terrible health problems ever since.  For over 60 years the Veterans have sought recognition for their unique service to the country.

Tom Watson MP, the British Nuclear Test Veterans Association (BNTVA) and the Daily Mirror are running a joint campaign to honour our nuclear test service veterans with a medal.
