A campaign to help encourage people to quit smoking has received Rosie's support.

She is backing the Stoptober campaign run by Public Health England. It challenges people to quit smoking for 28 days in October.

Rosie said: “Stoptober is a great campaign with fantastic resources available to help those who want to kick the habit.

“Experts say that by stopping smoking for just 28 days people are five times more likely to stop all together.”

The average number of smokers for the Yorkshire and the Humber region is 22.7 per cent, the highest prevalence of smoking for any region in the country.

Anybody hoping to quit can sign up for Stoptober here.
