There are 35 community pharmacies in Doncaster Central currently dispensing medicines and offering advice and a range of clinical services to patients, making sure that people have access to the medicines that they need, when they need them.
Dame Rosie met with Nick Hunter, Chief Officer of the Doncaster Local Pharmaceutical Committee at an event in Parliament and discussed how community pharmacies could help people with long-term conditions by developing the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their own health and care, and get the most benefit possible from their medicines, leading to fewer hospital admissions and visits to GPs, reducing the impact that their condition has on their life and the risk of more serious complications.
