Rosie has called on the government to fully implement the recommendations of a task force on nuisance phone calls.

Rosie, who launched her campaign Freeze Out Cold Calls in 2013, has written to Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, to urge him to lead a cross-sector business awareness campaign bringing together businesses, regulators such as the ICO and Ofcom, and consumer groups and to review and amend legislation to give the ICO further powers, amongst other recommendations.

Rosie said: "I have been campaigning for action to be taken against nuisance calls for a long time now and I know from the huge response I have had from the people of Doncaster that this matter is still causing considerable distress, particularly to vulnerable people.

"The Government now need to implement the task force’s recommendations in full to tackle this problem and should also support the take-up of schemes, such as TPS, by taking them into account during the procurement process for call centres."
