Local News / Praise for heart shop volunteers
Rosie has praised charity volunteers working to combat heart disease in Doncaster.
She visited staff and volunteers at the British Heart Foundation shop at The Colonnades.
The Doncaster Central MP said: “I want to thank the volunteers for all the hard work they do here in Doncaster. British Heart Foundation shops raise millions of pounds every year and I’m delighted to offer my support and help to raise awareness of the role they play in the fight against heart disease.”
Rosie heard how BHF shops raise funds for life-saving research.
Heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, responsible for almost 74,000 deaths in the UK each year, an average of 200 people each day.
There are currently 2.3million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease.
