Rosie has thrown her support behind a charity which supports homeless young people.

She visited Doncaster Housing for Young People (DHYP) to meet staff and people who use the service.

The Doncaster Central MP said: “Homelessness does exist in Doncaster, as it does in many places across the UK, and I fear it will get worse as public spending cuts start to bite and more and more people struggle to find work.

“The young men and women who use DHYP are just ordinary people who have fallen on hard times – some have lost jobs while others have suffered family break up.

“They are a part of our community and DHYP does an excellent job in helping them back on their feet.”

DHYP was established in 1993 and now helps around 400 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 every year.

Michelle Critchlow, Operations Manager for DHYP, said: “It’s reassuring to know that our local MP takes a real interest in the housing needs and wellbeing of vulnerable young people in Doncaster.

“DHYP and its service users are delighted and honoured that Rosie is showing support towards the work it does.”
