Following the conclusion of the successful London 2017 World Athletics Championships, the UK’s National Lottery funded Olympic and Paralympic athletes are teaming up with parkrun to encourage the nation to get active with #teamparkrun.  To thank people for their support for sport at all levels and for being right behind them every step of the way, Olympic and Paralympic stars will be right behind them on #teamparkrun on Saturday 19 August, acting as tail walkers at parkruns across the country.

Rosie joined Bradley Sinden from Doncaster – at Doncaster parkrun at Sandall Park on Saturday.  Bradley, Bronze medallist at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championships and Men’s bantamweight Gold medalist at the Junior European and Commonwealth Championships – was a tail walker, ensuring that no one finished last except him!

Rosie says “Whenever I attend Doncaster parkrun it is always a really enjoyable experience and this #teamparkrun initiative from Sport UK is an excellent opportunity for elite athletes to thank the public for their support through playing the National Lottery and I would encourage people to get involved.”

5k parkrun events take place at Sandall Park every Saturday at 9am and offer a free and easy way to take your first steps into becoming more active. To sign up to #teamparkrun and find your nearest venue, visit www.teamparkrun.com.
