The number of Asbos granted in South Yorkshire has hit a 10-year low, Rosie has revealed.
Only 22 were issued last year, compared with 43 in 2010.
Asbos – court orders which can ban a person from threatening, intimidating or disruptive actions or spending time with particular people or visiting certain areas – were introduced in 1998.
In 2005 a total of 104 were issued across the county. There were 19 in 2002.
And a breakdown obtained through FOI requests has revealed that in the first two quarters of 2012 only five were issued by South Yorkshire Police.
Rosie said the Government had removed a ‘vital tool’ in the fight against anti-social behaviour.
She said: “The Government has trashed the measures Labour introduced to tackle anti-social behaviour, but hasn't introduced anything new. They have left the police and local councils in a state of confusion.
“That means communities across Doncaster and South Yorkshire have been left without the vital tools to crack down on loutish behaviour which blights the lives of so many people.
“David Cameron has thrown a tried and tested system into chaos – at a time when he is cutting hundreds of police officers from the streets across the county.
“It is yet another sign of his weakness and lack of commitment in the fight against crime.”
