Local News / Government not doing enough for young people - Rosie
Rosie praised a Doncaster organisation's commitment to young people - and criticised the Government's lack of support.
Almost 200 teenagers and young adults applied for six new apprenticeships being offered by St Leger Homes, which manages the borough 21,000 council houses.
Rosie said: “It’s excellent news that St Leger homes are choosing to invest in young people.
“Apprenticeships equip young people with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace and play an important role in the future economic prosperity of our area.”
Rosie added: “Sadly the number of applications reveal the true extent of the unemployment challenge facing our borough – it’s clear Doncaster is crying for urgent action to ensure growth in the number of full-time, skilled jobs and quality training opportunities.
“David Cameron just isn't doing enough to help make that happen.”
