Dame Rosie Winterton DBE, MP for Doncaster Central met with representatives from the South Yorkshire Fire
Brigade Union who were at Parliament this week to raise concerns over proposed cuts to South Yorkshire fire cover.
The FBU say that they are concerned that latest proposals will ensure that Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield main fire stations no longer have their second fire engine providing an immediate response to fire calls between the hours of 7 pm and 8 am, and that whilst the provision will be maintained during daytime hours, there has been a significant increase in incidents including recent fire deaths, during periods when the second appliances would not be available.

Dame Rosie met with firefighters in Parliament to discuss their concerns and hear from them why they believe this cover needs to be maintained.
