Coffee and Crime Chat in Edenthorpe

24 Jan 2009

Today Rosie met with Edenthorpe for a coffee and a chat at the Edenthorpe Community Centre to discuss crime and anti-social behaviour.

Rosie was joined by members of Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) for Edenthorpe, who are part of the Armthorpe SNT, covering Armthorpe, Edenthorpe, Kirk Sandall and Barnby Dun. There are dedicated officers for each of the areas working from a base within Armthorpe School on Mere Lane.

Rosie said of the event:

“I organised this event because I believe the best way to tackle crime is for the police to engage with the local community. SNTs are there to deal with local problems and tackle anti-social behaviour like vandalism, littering and graffiti but they need the input of local people.”

Local people had the opportunity to meet their local Safer Neighbourhood team and to let them and Rosie know what more can be done locally.

Anyone wanting to contact the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team can ring 01302 385153 and leave a message.
