20 Nov 2017
To coincide with Parliament week which ran from 13th to 19th November 2017, Woodfield Primary
School in Balby, Doncaster, invited their local MP, Dame Rosie Winterton, to visit the school and talk with pupils in Years 6 and 6 (9-11 years old) about what Parliament means to them.

This year Parliament Week is hoping to reach over 300,000 people across the UK.

Dame Rosie said “I really enjoyed meeting with the children from Woodfield Primary School who were very engaged and interested to know about our democracy and the way that the Government makes laws through
Parliament”

Rosie spoke about her role as a local MP and the students asked a series of questions relating to Parliament, MPs and how individuals and communities can get involved in our democracy, in a mini ‘question time’.
